Experienced Staff

We are looking for an experienced governmental accountant to join our team to provide high-quality accounting services to local governments including counties, cities and towns, school districts, and other special districts. The job responsibilities in this role could include:

  • Managing full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for governmental clients

  • Process payroll for local government entities

  • Oversee grants management, ensuring compliance with rules for federal/state/local funding

  • Provide accounting support to county departments of human services as part their monthly settlement process with the Colorado Department of Human Services

  • Prepare and compile financial statements and footnotes in accordance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards

  • Work closely with clients to monitor and develop their budget, provide assistance with fund accounting, assist in developing internal control processes, and audit preparation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (or related field)

  • Experience working with local governments in an accounting capacity, or as an auditor

  • Familiarity preparing financial statements and footnotes in accordance with GASB standards

  • Strong knowledge of governmental fund accounting, internal controls, and audit readiness

​

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or progress towards licensure

  • Experience working with Colorado county human services departments and familiarity with the settlement process

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with client governmental finance staff, auditors, and oversight agencies.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $95,000 annually depending on experience and expertise.

​
